2014 District Games

SSFA districts hold games activities each year. If you are interested in participating, locate and contact your district to become a member. Those who qualify from district games activities may choose to advance to the Provincial 55+ Games, if they wish.

2014 Provincial 55+ Games

FINAL RESULTS of the 2014 Provincial 55+ Games


Humboldt will be hosting the 55+ Games on July 8, 9 & 10. The games were hosted in 2004 and no doubt they will uphold their reputation of successful games.

Games will include five pin bowling, contract bridge, duplicate bridge, golf, cribbage, darts, Kaiser, swimming, scrabble, table tennis, whist, poetry & short story writing, bank shuffleboard, 8 ball, snooker, slo-pitch, track & field, bocce, pickle ball and ice curling (includes stick curling).

The deadline for registering for these events is June 6. Contact your district representative if you wish to compete at the district level to qualify for these games.

Tennis will be played in Saskatoon, lawn bowling in Regina and floor curling in Pierceland with dates to be determined. The ice curling (4 person) and stick curling (2 person) will be held in Humboldt on March 19, 20 & 21. The deadline for receiving the registration forms is March 10. Curlers interested in competing in this event should contact their district representative (refer to contacts on this home page) to purchase a SSFA membership and complete a registration form.

2014 Canada 55+ Games Site Named

The 2014 Canada 55+ Games will be held in Strathcona County, Alberta, August 27 to 30, 2014. Check their website to see what will be happening: www.strathcona.ca/55plus

Canada 55+ 2012 Games

Saskatchewan was represented by 119 athletes, with participants coming
from eight districts to compete August 29-September 1 in Sydney, Nova
Scotia. Forty-five guests from Saskatchewan travelled to support the
athletes. Entertainment included Rita MacNeil and the Men of the
Deeps.The competitors on the Saskatchewan Team celebrated their
achievements in winning a total of 75 medals, 36 gold, 24 silver, and 15
bronze medals.
